The village of Mount Prospect is very generous with lead service line replacement rebates, and that is because they reimburse 100% of the cost to replace the service line from the water main line to the shut-off valve, and two-thirds of the cost, or up to $10,000 total, to replace the line from the B-box to the water meter. If you have a lead service line and contact us, we'll be able to diagnose your current situation and let you know if you qualify for these rebates. Lead service lines are health concerns due to lead potentially in your water, and that is why Illinois is requiring all of them to be replaced over time, so if you know or think you have one, feel free to contact us any time.

Overhead Sewer Rebate Program
If your home in Mount Prospect has an older gravity sewer, your basement plumbing drains down and out to the village main line. This setup works fine a lot of the time, but if there is a heavy storm, the village's combined sewer main line can fill up to capacity, and when that happens, the pressure can push back through the lowest opening in your plumbing, which is usually the basement floor drain.
An overhead sewer fixes this by changing where your sewer line exits your home. Instead of running out under your basement floor, a pit will get cut in your basement floor, everything below grade will drop into that, and an ejector pump will lift the waste up to the overhead line. Since nothing in your basement will be connecting downward to the village's main line anymore, there will be no path for the sewage to come back into your basement. For homeowners that have a finished basement, or things that are valuable to you in your basement, getting an overhead sewer is something you should at least consider.
Mount Prospect Will Help Pay For It
Mount Prospect will actually help pay for this conversion. The village will reimburse 50% of the cost up to $7,500.
